What do you need before building an AI agent?
You need a focused outcome, the recurring responsibilities that support it, the business apps and documents involved, the points where a person must decide, and observable evidence that the work is complete. You do not need to choose every server or integration detail before you start.
The six decisions that make an agent useful
- Outcome: what changes for the business when the agent works?
- Responsibilities: which related jobs belong to this agent—and which do not?
- Loops: what should happen when requested, hourly, daily, weekly, or after an event?
- Context: which SOPs, examples, records, and business rules should guide the work?
- Apps and people: where does information come from, where does work go, and when is human review required?
- Done: what evidence proves the outcome was delivered correctly?
What “no-code” really means here
You describe the role in business language and review the organized plan. The coding assistant still performs the technical implementation on your VPS. This keeps the intake nontechnical without pretending that production agents have no infrastructure, model, security, or integration decisions.
Example: an AI executive assistant
A useful brief might cover inbox triage, meeting preparation, CRM and sales summaries, follow-up drafting, and a daily priority brief. It should also say that external sends and consequential record changes require review, identify the source apps, and define done—for example, every priority item is routed with its source and next action.
What Agent Factory produces
The result is a portable, reviewable build handoff for a self-owned Hermes or OpenClaw agent. Agent Factory does not silently connect to or operate the finished agent. Your coding assistant inspects the destination, preserves existing deployments, asks for missing implementation details when they matter, and guides the build.
